CIRCUMCISION OF THE HEART

Jer 4:3-4 NKJV

"Break up your fallow ground, and do not sow among thorns. Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your hearts...

Rom 2:29 NLT

And true circumcision is not a cutting of the body but a change of heart produced by God's Spirit.

One of the processes the Lord takes us through is a circumcision of our hearts. He draws to the surface the deeply embedded thorns and as we offer them up to Him, He removes them. As these parts of our flesh, memories, and passions come forth, we see that they are not His divine image and nature and we submit them to Him. Many of these issues are emotionally charged and that is how we can see the wounds that are too deep to understand and why we respond to circumstances the way we do. The Lord wants to remove every tare in our soul so that only His good fruit remains.

Our SOUL is:

1. What we think

2. What we want

3. What we feel

When these tares are removed, the pain, the emotions, the drives, the mindsets will be replaced with these fruits of His Spirit:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

Gal 5:22-23 NKJV

Now read that list of the fruit of the Spirit one more time and realize that most of these (if not all of them) are directly connected to our EMOTIONS!

CONSECRATED EMOTIONS

AWKKKKKKKK! TO CONSECRATE YOUR EMOTIONS

[Emotions Stretched for His Purpose]

NOTE: One of my favorite sayings is "Awkkkkkk!" when things are a mess. This post is about going through a season when the Lord draws our emotions to the surface to sanctify them for healing and then we may be used to bring healing to others.

HEARD 5/28/04: Focus. Keep your focus on the Lord. … Yield Me your emotions and I will sanctify them. A life set apart. Wage war, the battle of the mind. Thought life. Now you’re free. Liberty.

HEARD 5/11/04: All messed up. He chose these emotions to get you back where you needed to be. Remove the scar tissue that stretched you out of orbit.

HEARD 6/03/04: Help me. I’m so sorry. I feel disqualified. I don’t want to run anymore. It’s all about running away. And then they come back and run again. It’s a conditioned response. Emotions trigger it. Lighten your load.

Just keep it natural and flowing. Be simple. Watch the tide go in and out. … Now this is a good balance. My feathers are fine, how are yours? Ahhh, I can feel it.

[Interp feathers: He is so funny! I have a saying about my feathers being rubbed the wrong way when things are out of whack!]

HEARD 7/16/04: Healing. Trust Me. Those are grand emotions you are having. I have something to say about them. AWKKKKKKKK! No, behave. You are learning and growing and stretching. So keep smiling. We want you healthy. You gotta’ go through this. That’s that. Smile.

WORD TO PONDER LET ME CONSECRATE YOUR EMOTIONS

Dear one, I realize you are being stretched to the max in your emotions and this has been a difficult time for you. I allow everything in your life for a purpose and this is no different. Your emotions have been buried beneath a pile of rubble from your past and I AM here to wash them clean. I want your soul clean so that you will prosper and be in good health. Do you understand?

Whatever you are feeling, yield it to Me as it comes to the surface. Give Me your emotion and I will consecrate it for My use and My purpose. This will bring you great joy when you have gained this freedom. You may soon discover that you receive brief glimpses into the window of another’s soul through your consecrated emotions. Merely by the brief touch to your own emotion, this is a Word of Knowledge that will loose someone else’s tortured pain. I would not be able to use you in this manner if your own emotions were not already dedicated to Me and made available for My use. Thank You dear one for allowing Me access.

Heb 4:15-16 AMP

For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but one Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning. Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God's unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].

CIRCUMCISION OF THE SOUL

What's quite hidden beneath the layers,

Comes to the surface from loving prayers.

When God's Spirit comes to wash her soul

His intent is to make her whole.

Like sudden birth pangs a vice grips down

Applying pressure to old wounds found.

What was imbedded in needs and wants

Emotions arise that are bulging taunt.

The surgeon doctor from the start

Pricks the foreskin of her heart

Bitter poison erupts like a boil

From what was past, from what was soiled.

How dare He wound me when I trust Him!

Clouded with tears, my vision grows dim.

Pain, rejection, abandonment.

Betrayal, anger, disillusionment.

Hopeless despair, so why do I care?

Life is bitter, I wish I weren't here.

She listens to all this silent talk

Screaming inside from whence she walks.

Who is this person that lives inside?

Certainly it's not His faithful bride.

Repentance pours forth like a flood.

The wound washes clean from His blood.

She gives Him the pain, calls out for comfort,

Submits to Him all that's fallen short.

She feels numb as the pain dissipates,

Shock and tears spent as she stares in space.

Not one blame or a word does He speak

Against all the pain from the soul that leaked.

With compassion He's prayed her through.

Deep in surgery, He suffered too.

He brings healing on the other side

Giving understanding to His bride.

As the veil is lifted from her soul

She sees the light and is made whole.

Silent bands once compressed her breath

Her heart expands after facing death.

The hardened cracked shell was broken

From what was numb now can feel again

The heart of stone is now tender

Soft and pliable, it's a wonder.

Gracious compassion, a kind heart beats.

Gentle tears for who's faced defeat.

They too must face their own surgery

She'll be there, understanding the purge.

When they recover, they'll have one heart.

God's gentle Spirit yields a brand new start.

"Therefore circumcise the foreskin of your heart, and be stiff-necked no longer.” (Deuteronomy 10:16 NKJ)

Ezek 36:25-28 NKJV

Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

Ezek 11:19-20 NKJV

Then I will give them one heart , and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh, that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God.
