UNDERSTANDING
SIGNS IN THE WEATHER
There are many signs on the earth
and heavens today. However we need to turn to scripture
first for valid interpretations of what scripture says
are signs and also to find out what these signs mean.
Some of these signs in scripture are only represented
in a bad sense so it is inappropriate to think that some
signs are validating a prophetic message, unless the
specific message is an actual warning from God.
Snow Hail
Earthquakes Volcanoes Fire Famine Plague
Tornado
SNOW: Snow in scripture is
represented in a good sense as a treasure, a covering of
our sins and even the Lords hair.. I found nothing
negative about snow, except when they mention that
leprosy was white as snow.
HAIL: Hail can represent a
time of trouble, a judgment or a plague.
EARTHQUAKES: Earthquakes in
scripture in a good sense can represent resurrection and
deliverance. Earthquakes in scripture in a bad sense
can represent punishment or wrath.
VOLCANOES: Volcanoes
(burning sulfur/ brimstone) in scripture represented
punishment and torment.
FIRE: Fire in a good sense
represented via scripture as protection, light,
offerings and sacrifice, holy purity, His Word. Fire in
a negative sense represented the rebuke of the Lord, a
test, judgment.
FAMINE: In scripture
famine in a bad sense represented sin against God, evil
times, rebuke, reproach, lesson, judgment.
PLAGUE: In a bad sense
plagues in scripture represented the rebuke of the Lord,
the anger of the Lord.
TORNADO (WHIRLWIND,
TEMPEST) - A tornado in a bad sense represented terror,
destruction, distress and anguish, anger and fury of the
Lord. And in a good sense represented the chariots of
the Lord.

SNOW:
Snow in scripture is represented in a good sense as a
treasure, a covering of our sins and even the Lords
hair.. I found nothing negative about snow, except when
they mention that leprosy was white as snow.
Job 38:22-23
"Have you entered the treasury
of snow , Or have you seen the treasury of hail, Which
I have reserved for the time of trouble, For the day of
battle and war?
Isa 1:18
"Come now, and let us reason
together," Says the LORD, "Though your sins are like
scarlet, They shall be as white as snow ; Though they
are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.
Ps 147:15-19
He sends out His command to the
earth; His word runs very swiftly. 16 He gives snow like
wool; He scatters the frost like ashes; 17 He casts out
His hail like morsels; Who can stand before His cold? 18
He sends out His word and melts them; He causes His wind
to blow, and the waters flow. 19 He declares His word
to Jacob, His statutes and His judgments to Israel.
Rev 1:14 NKJV
His head and hair were white
like wool, as white as snow...
HAIL:
Hail can represent a time of trouble, or a judgment or a
plague.
Job 38:22-23
"Have you entered the treasury
of snow , Or have you seen the treasury of hail, Which
I have reserved for the time of trouble, For the day of
battle and war?
Ex 9:22-26 NKJV
Then the LORD said to Moses,
"Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be
hail in all the land of Egypt on man, on beast, and on
every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt."
23 And Moses stretched out his rod toward heaven; and
the LORD sent thunder and hail , and fire darted to the
ground. And the LORD rained hail on the land of Egypt.
24 So there was hail , and fire mingled with the hail ,
so very heavy that there was none like it in all the
land of Egypt since it became a nation. 25 And the hail
struck throughout the whole land of Egypt, all that was
in the field, both man and beast; and the hail struck
every herb of the field and broke every tree of the
field. 26 Only in the land of Goshen, where the children
of Israel were, there was no hail .
Rev 16:21 NKJV
And great hail from heaven fell
upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent.
Men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail ,
since that plague was exceedingly great.
EARTHQUAKES:
Earthquakes in scripture in a bad sense represent
punishment, wrath. And earthquakes in scripture in a
good sense can represent resurrection and deliverance.
Isa 29:6 NKJV
You will be punished by the
LORD of hosts With thunder and earthquake and great
noise, With storm and tempest And the flame of
devouring fire.
Ezek 38:19-21 NKJV
For in My jealousy and in the
fire of My wrath I have spoken: 'Surely in that day
there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel,
20 so that the fish of the sea, the birds of the
heavens, the beasts of the field, all creeping things
that creep on the earth, and all men who are on the face
of the earth shall shake at My presence. The mountains
shall be thrown down, the steep places shall fall, and
every wall shall fall to the ground.'
Rev 11:18-19
The nations were angry, and
Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they
should be judged, And that You should reward Your
servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear
Your name, small and great,
And should destroy those who
destroy the earth." 19 Then the temple of God was
opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen
in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises,
thunderings, an earthquake , and great hail.
Matt 28:3
Now after the Sabbath, as the
first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and
the other Mary came to see the tomb. 2 And behold, there
was a great earthquake ; for an angel of the Lord
descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the
stone from the door, and sat on it. 3 His countenance
was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.
Acts 16:26-27

angels urged Lot to hurry, saying, "Arise, take your
wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be
consumed in the punishment of the city." ....... 24
Then the LORD rained down fire and burning sulfur from
the heavens on Sodom and Gomorrah. 25 He utterly
destroyed them, along with the other cities and villages
of the plain, eliminating all life people, plants, and
animals alike.
Deut 29:22-26 NKJV
so that the coming generation
of your children who rise up after you, and the
foreigner who comes from a far land, would say, when
they see the plagues of that land and the sicknesses
which the LORD has laid on it: 23'The whole land is
brimstone , salt, and burning; it is not sown, nor does
it bear, nor does any grass grow there, like the
overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim,
which the LORD overthrew in His anger and His wrath.' 24
All nations would say, 'Why has the LORD done so to this
land? What does the heat of this great anger mean?' 25
Then people would say: 'Because they have forsaken the
covenant of the LORD God of their fathers, which He made
with them when He brought them out of the land of Egypt;
26 for they went and served other gods and worshiped
them, gods that they did not know and that He had not
given to them.
Rev 9:18-21 NKJV
By these three plagues a third
of mankind was killed by the fire and the smoke and
the brimstone which came out of their mouths. 19 For
their power is in their mouth and in their tails; for
their tails are like serpents, having heads; and with
them they do harm. 20 But the rest of mankind, who were
not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works
of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and
idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can
neither see nor hear nor walk. 21 And they did not
repent of their murders or their sorceries or their
sexual immorality or their thefts.
Rev 20:10 NKJV
The devil, who deceived them,
was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the
beast and the false prophet are. And they will be
tormented day and night forever and ever.

But the cowardly, unbelieving,
abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers,
idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the
lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the
second death."

Fire in a good sense, was represented in scripture as
protection, light, offerings and sacrifice, holy purity,
His Word
Ex 13:21-14:1 NKJV
And the LORD went before them
by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by
night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to
go by day and night. 22 He did not take away the pillar

before the people.

Mal 3:3 NKJV
And who can stand when He
appears? For He is like a refiner's fire And like

silver, That they may offer to the LORD An offering in
righteousness.

1 Cor 3:13-15 NKJV
...each one's work will become
clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be
revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's
work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone's work which he
has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If
anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he
himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
2 Peter 3:6-7 NKJV
But the heavens and the earth
which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved
for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of
ungodly men.
FAMINE:
In scripture famine in a bad sense represents sin
against God, evil times, rebuke, reproach, lesson,
judgment.
1 Kings 8:35-36 NKJV
"When the heavens are shut up
and there is no rain because they have sinned against
You, when they pray toward this place and confess Your
name, and turn from their sin because You afflict them,
36 then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your
servants, Your people Israel, that You may teach them
the good way in which they should walk; and send rain on
Your land which You have given to Your people as an
inheritance.
1 Kings 8:37-40 NKJV
"When there is famine in the
land, pestilence or blight or mildew, locusts or
grasshoppers; when their enemy besieges them in the land
of their cities; whatever plague or whatever sickness
there is; 38 whatever prayer, whatever supplication is
made by anyone, or by all Your people Israel, when each
one knows the plague of his own heart, and spreads out
his hands toward this temple: 39 then hear in heaven
Your dwelling place, and forgive, and act, and give to
everyone according to all his ways, whose heart You know
(for You alone know the hearts of all the sons of men),
40 that they may fear You all the days that they live in
the land which You gave to our fathers.
Ps 37:18-19 NKJV

days of famine they shall be satisfied.

wrong; Yes, He rebuked kings for their sakes, 15
Saying, "Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My
prophets no harm." 16 Moreover He called for a famine
in the land; He destroyed all the provision of bread.
17 He sent a man before them Joseph who was sold as
a slave.
Ezek 5:12-17 NKJV
One-third of you shall die of
the pestilence, and be consumed with famine in your
midst; and one-third shall fall by the sword all around
you; and I will scatter another third to all the winds,
and I will draw out a sword after them. 13'Thus shall
My anger be spent, and I will cause My fury to rest upon
them, and I will be avenged; and they shall know that I,
the LORD, have spoken it in My zeal, when I have spent
My fury upon them. 14 Moreover I will make you a waste
and a reproach among the nations that are all around
you, in the sight of all who pass by. 15'So it shall be
a reproach, a taunt, a lesson, and an astonishment to
the nations that are all around you, when I execute
judgments among you in anger and in fury and in furious
rebukes. I, the LORD, have spoken. 16 When I send
against them the terrible arrows of famine which shall
be for destruction, which I will send to destroy you, I
will increase the famine upon you and cut off your
supply of bread. 17 So I will send against you famine
and wild beasts, and they will bereave you. Pestilence
and blood shall pass through you, and I will bring the
sword against you. I, the LORD, have spoken.'"

take vengeance on His adversaries, And He reserves wrath
for His enemies; 3 The LORD is slow to anger and great

LORD has His way In the whirlwind and in the storm, And
the clouds are the dust of His feet. 4 He rebukes the
sea and makes it dry, And dries up all the rivers.
Bashan and Carmel wither, And the flower of Lebanon
wilts. 5 The mountains quake before Him, The hills melt,
And the earth heaves at His presence, Yes, the world and
all who dwell in it. 6 Who can stand before His
indignation? And who can endure the fierceness of His
anger? His fury is poured out like fire, And the rocks
are thrown down by Him.
