HE SPEAKS THROUGH IMPARTATION

Scripture says we can receive the anointing through “impartation”.  There are different kinds of impartations. 

Rom 1:11-12 NKJV

For I long to see you, that I may impart {#3330} to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established — that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.

1.  IMPARTATION THROUGH LAYING ON OF HANDS

One impartation is through the laying on of hands.  This is an official symbolic act in the Old Testament and New Testament. 

Laying on of hands in the Old Testament was an act of blessing. 

Gen 48:14-15 NKJV

Then Israel stretched out his right hand and laid it on Ephraim's head, who was the younger, and his left hand on Manasseh's head, guiding his hands knowingly, for Manasseh was the firstborn.  And he blessed Joseph.  It was a ritual of sacrifice and transference of sin. 

Ex 29:10-11

"You shall also have the bull brought before the tabernacle of meeting, and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands on the head of the bull. 

Lev 16:20-21

Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, confess over it all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions, concerning all their sins, putting them on the head of the goat...  It was an act of setting apart for consecration for service. 

Num 8:10 NKJV

So you shall bring the Levites before the LORD, and the children of Israel shall lay their hands on the Levites;

 

Laying on of hands in the New Testament was an act to receive the Holy Spirit. 

Acts 8:15-19

Who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.  For as yet He had fallen upon none of them.  They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.  Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.  And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, saying, "Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit."

Acts 19:6 NKJV

And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.  It was an act to impart or stir up gifts of God. 

2 Tim 1:6 NKJV

Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.  It was an act to set apart for ministry. 

Acts 13:2-3 NKJV

The Holy Spirit said, "Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away.  It was an act to impart healing. 

Mark 16:18 NKJV

...they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

Laying on of hands in the New Testament was an act to impart healing.

2.  ANOINTING IS TRANSFERRED THROUGH TOUCHING

A lady pursued Jesus and received Jesus’ virtue to heal her.  He did not choose to give this to her, her faith went after Jesus and her need DREW it out of Him. 

Luke 8:46

And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. 

There are times when someone accidently bumps into me in public places.  In my mind, I always say, “In the Name of Jesus!!!” That way if the Lord wants to give something to them, He may.  And if the enemy is wanting to dump on me, there is a standard against it.  This is a long time habit and I have seen people actually get delivered through this simple blessing of Jesus Name. 

3.  ANOINTING IS TRANSFERRED THROUGH A CORPORATE IMPARTATION

In the case of Saul in the OT, when he mingled with the prophets, he received the same prophetic spirit to prophesy. 

1 Sam 10:6-13 NKJV

Then the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man.  7 And let it be, when these signs come to you, that you do as the occasion demands; for God is with you.  8 You shall go down before me to Gilgal; and surely I will come down to you to offer burnt offerings and make sacrifices of peace offerings.  Seven days you shall wait, till I come to you and show you what you should do." 9 So it was, when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, that God gave him another heart; and all those signs came to pass that day.  10 When they came there to the hill, there was a group of prophets to meet him; then the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them.  11 And it happened, when all who knew him formerly saw that he indeed prophesied among the prophets , that the people said to one another, "What is this that has come upon the son of Kish?  Is Saul also among the prophets ?" 12 Then a man from there answered and said, "But who is their father?" Therefore it became a proverb: "Is Saul also among the prophets ?" 13 And when he had finished prophesying, he went to the high place. 

Often when I am in a prophetic round table meeting, or a meeting that gathers the prophetic, there is a corporate anointing to prophesy.  The spirit of the prophets stirs up the prophetic giftings and it is VERY easy to prophesy and find open heaven hearing/ seeing when the prophetic gather. 

4.  ANOINTING IS TRANSFERRED THROUGH DISTANCE

The anointing can be transferred through distance by speaking the Word.  Often when I am watching a prophetic conference on line or TV, when I hear the Word loosed, I receive His tangible anointing wash over my soul and body with cleansing and refreshment! 

There have been times in the QW chatroom where we have met to worship Him in one accord by all typing together, that we have received His tangible anointing upon our worship and praise!  It has been awesome confirmation to our gathering together and a lot of fun! 

I have received the tangible Presence of the Lord through listening to a CD or worship, prayers and prophetic Words.  The Lord’s Presence can be sent through a prayer in a telephone call.  There is no distance in God!

Matt 8:8-11 NKJV

The centurion answered and said, "Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof.  But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.  For I also am a man under authority , having soldiers under me.  And I say to this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it." When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, "Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel! 

5.  ANOINTING IS TRANSFERRED STRAIGHT FROM HEAVEN’S OUTPOURING

“And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.” (Acts 2:2 KJV)

DREAM: GLORY IMPARTED IN THE WIND

We were expecting an impartation of the Lord’s glory.  Because we knew it was going to be an impartation, I went to Pastor thinking he might have the Lord’s glory to impart.  Pastor not knowing what I am thinking comes to me with his hand out, saying, “you impart good.”

I immediately realized that this particular impartation is going to come straight from the Father.  So instead we both put our hands up and looked to the Lord while I prayed very strongly, “Lord impart to us Your glory!!!”

Then still in the dream, I heard His still small voice say, “In the wind.”I understood that this was how He was going to impart His glory.  Then as I was shaking very strongly under the power of the Lord He asked me if I enjoyed dancing with the children. 

WORD TO PONDER SOME IMPARTATION IS STRAIGHT FROM ME

There are many impartations in My Spirit, and I use laying on of hands and other means to release gifts to My people.  There is a wave of My glory coming that can only be received directly from My own touch upon and into your life.  Place your heart to receive and open your sails like a ship to catch My wind. 

“And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.” (Acts 2:2 KJV)

6.  IMPARTATION OF THE ANOINTING THROUGH ANOINTING OIL

Oil that has been set aside and consecrated unto the Lord for His purposes can be used to impart His anointing. 

Ex 30:25-32 It shall be a holy anointing oil.  26 With it you shall anoint the tabernacle of meeting and the ark of the Testimony; 27 the table and all its utensils, the lampstand and its utensils, and the altar of incense; 28 the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils, and the laver and its base.  29 You shall consecrate them, that they may be most holy; whatever touches them must be holy.  30 And you shall anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that they may minister to Me as priests.  31 And you shall speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘This shall be a holy anointing oil to Me throughout your generations. 

Isa 10:27 It shall come to pass in that day that his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil. 

James 5:14-16 Is any sick among you?  let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.  Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.  The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. 

7.  ANOINTING IMPARTED THROUGH ANOINTED BELONGINGS OF SERVANTS OF GOD

...and begged Him that they might only touch the hem of His garment.  And as many as touched it were made perfectly well. 

ELIJAH’S MANTLE

2 Kings 2:14

Then he took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and struck the water, and said, “Where is the LORD God of Elijah?” And when he also had struck the water, it was divided this way and that; and Elisha crossed over.

Ex 17:5-6

And the LORD said to Moses ,"Go on before the people, and take with you some of the elders of Israel.  Also take in your hand your rod with which you struck the river, and go.  Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it, that the people may drink."

Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.

Then Elisha said to Gehazi, “Get ready to travel; take my staff and go!  Don’t talk to anyone along the way.  Go quickly and lay the staff on the child’s face.”

Acts 5:15-16

As a result of the apostles’ work, sick people were brought out into the streets on beds and mats so that Peter’s shadow might fall across some of them as he went by. 

ELISHA’S BONES

2 Kings 13:21

Once when some Israelites were burying a man, they spied a band of these raiders.  So they hastily threw the body they were burying into the tomb of Elisha.  But as soon as the body touched Elisha’s bones, the dead man revived and jumped to his feet!  I have waved glory ring and/or flags in worship and people have experienced His tangible anointing.  Twice I witnessed people receiving deliverance in this. 

MY TESTIMONY ABOUT IMPARTATIONS

Rom 1:11-12 NKJV

2 Tim 1:6 NKJV

Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

I believe very strongly in the scriptural practice of impartations of gifts.  Timothy was admonished by Paul to use the gift of prophecy that was given to him by the laying on of hands. 

The Lord alone knows the gifts we need and the Holy Spirit is the One Who distributes the gifts.  And some of these gifts do come through the direct laying on of hands.  I strongly recommend receiving prayer for impartation of gifts whenever possible. 

1 Cor 12:10 NLT

It is the one and only Holy Spirit who distributes these gifts.  He alone decides which gift each person should have. 

IMPARTATION OF PROPHETIC PRAYER

The second time I was on a ministry team, I peeked out into the auditorium which was packed with about 1,200 people.  My heart began to race and all I could see in my mind’s eye were lines and lines of people in front of me!  I ran back into the prayer room and grabbed Rich’s hand and slapped it onto my forehead.  Rich was a very special person.  He had been hired to pray for the company from which he’d tried to previously resign, due to the Lord’s calling upon his life to pray.  He is the only intercessor I know that has the world’s salary to pray!  I had heard some of his stories of intercession and he had my vote for sure.  So dear Rich smiled at my wide eyes and started to pray.  I relaxed and received whatever the Lord wanted to give me.  It lasted less than a minute and my prayer life changed from that moment on.  When ministry time came, the Lord filled my mouth with prophetic prayers.  People gave me all kinds of confirmation about reading their mail and I was just amazed.  I knew exactly what I did NOT have before Rich’s prayer!  Praise the Lord for the simple gift of laying on of hands! 

IMPARTATION OF TRAVAIL

Michele Ann Goll was bowed over at the waist with intercession for the children in Israel.  She could barely get a word out through these strange contractions.  Later, they had a prayer line.  I had heard the Lord tell me the night before to catch the wind and I saw myself fall backward in His Presence.  Falling was not a normal thing for me, but I felt that this was the Lord’s way of letting me know He had something for me, so I went forward into the prayer line.  Just as she came to me, my hands involuntarily shot up above my head as though I was holding a sail, and I felt His wind catch in my sail, then impact my spirit, and I drifted backward onto the ground.  A catcher caught me and that was it.  Other than that, I didn’t experience anything, I only knew I had caught the wind like I was supposed to!  I soon discovered that in the middle of the night I would wake up with these "contractions" just like Ann had on stage.  I was praying in tongues in the Spirit as I was waking up.  I never did know what I was praying about, but I did understand that these contractions that some people have are genuine manifestations of the Holy Spirit and involuntary.  I experienced this at night for a brief season.

WARNINGS ABOUT IMPARTATION

1 Tim 5:22 NKJV

Do not lay hands on anyone hastily, nor share in other people's sins; keep yourself pure.

I once heard an itinerant speaker say that people come up to him all the time and say, "I want your mantle, or I want what you have," or something to that nature.  His response was, "Do you also want the demons that accompany this?" That shocked me, but I understood what he meant. 

Demons can be transferred through the laying on of hands.  Consider the following passage where Simon noticed that the Holy Spirit was given through the laying on of hands.  He had been a sorcerer and just become a baptized believer.  As a brand new Christian, he probably had not been taught about the gift of laying on of hands.  Most likely he understood the power of laying on of hands, due his past life as a sorcerer. 

Acts 8:14-19 NKJV

Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. Often when I touch people (or they touch me) whether in prayer, hugs, or back rubs - the spirits that hang around them follow me and I have to deal with them.  This has happened on a corporate warfare level at conferences and also on a personal level.  I have experienced this for years and it is just one of those “housekeeping” things I do on a regular basis by dealing with the spirits so they don't pull me down to the same level of junk that the others are wallowing in. 

Often when we are exposed to unclean things we bring the slime home with us.  I have something which I call "doing the dailys".  Every day we have grooming habits like brushing our teeth, etc.  We also need to develop spiritual grooming.  When I go to the mall, walk among a crowd, or go to church, the first thing I do is command all the unhealthy virus and bacteria to die and not live on me.  The second thing I do is bind demons and tell them they can not follow me home.  This is daily maintenance. 

One day I had prayed for several people and one of the spirits followed me home and I was feeling the repercussions of it.  I knew exactly what it was, that it was definitely not my natural personality, and I knew the person it came from.  So I was praying against it (and for that person) and along side of my prayer, I prayed protection over my family since we had come into contact with so many people that day at church. 

Just as I was doing this, my son came in, acting very down.  He wanted to know what I had been doing.  So I told him about doing the cleansing prayer and warfare after forgetting to do it on the way home. 

He said, “That's what I'm feeling!!!!” He said he was feeling exactly how his friend feels: lost, alone and confused.  He and a church acquaintance had just prayed over his friend about those issues that morning.  He called his church acquaintance the next day and asked how she was.  She said, “lost, lonely, and confused.”

A year later my son had a dream where he was delivered from some demons from the laying on of hands.   He told me the dream and I reminded him about laying on of hands in his dance class and mixing with unbelievers via dance. 

One time Anna said that her pastor had been doing deliverance sessions most of the day at church.  When he returned home he felt an oppression before he went to sleep, but was too tired to deal with it.  In the morning, when they let the cat in, it arched its back and began to hiss as if it was seeing something they did not see.  They put the cat out and did warfare throughout the house.  When the cat was brought back in, it was perfectly fine. 

We need to cover ourselves, bind and rebuke the enemy and cover ourselves with the blood of Jesus when we shake hands and touch people.  Demons can transfer and/or attach through touch.  I have experienced this many times and had to rebuke them. 

Before I learned this, I was in a pattern of having to fight other people's demons after having been with them.  I first discovered this when I had been hugging a person at Sunday church, who was suffering a deep, deep bipolar depression.  On Mondays I was being attacked with horrible depression myself, like a vortexing spiritual power, until I fought it off.  I finally made the connection and closed the door to it and also commanded that it could not follow me home.  After this season came and went, the person finally pulled out of the deep depression and I had also learned to no longer bring the battle home.  Now that my eyes were opened to this, I started discovering the same thing was happening with other spiritual issues that people were overcoming.  I learned to leave a blessing with the person, but also commanded that the demons could not follow me home. 

Re-consider this scripture:

1 Tim 5:22 NKJV

Do not lay hands on anyone hastily, nor share in other people's sins; keep yourself pure. 

It is highly possible that when Paul admonished us not to lay hands on anyone hastily he understood how easy it was to pick up the demons of those who are in sin.  In the OT, they used the practice of laying on of hands for several things.  In one of the ceremonies, the priest laid his hand upon the scapegoat so the sins of the nation would transfer to the goat and be carried away. 

Laying on of hands is like opening up a porthole, or gateway, for spiritual powers to travel.  It is nothing to be afraid of, it is something to receive as unto the Lord, and stand against it being used by the enemy in your life.  Those who practice laying on of hands in praying for others need to learn and practice their spiritual authority so they are kept pure.

WORD TO PONDER: WASH IT ALL AWAY

The world is stained and soiled and when you walk in the world, it sticks to your shoes.  Learn to wash it away by doing your daily maintenance.  Pray in the Spirit, meditate upon My Word, worship Me and take authority over the demonic world.  Keep your heart and soul in diligence and strive to walk in holiness.  Love all but do not partake of their sins. 

Resist condemnation and shame.  The enemy wants to place this barrier between us and drive you away from My Presence.  Come boldly before Me, knowing that I love you and forgive all your sins.  Let nothing stand between us and do not harden your heart to My voice for holy living.  The world is pressing in, do not allow it.  Keep diligent watch over your soul and live in peace.
