adoraRE (Worship the KING)

	Maria Pia Flamini Prophetic dance minister AdoraRE My Lord called me to worship him with dance around 13 years ago when I was in South Africa as a missionary where, during an International Dance celebration I was asked to participate in a tambourine dance to make up the last person needed for that particular choreography. Such dance was then presented on a Sunday Morning Service but what more than anything else, I was surprised to see that I like dancing for the Lord a lot, I felt closet to God, in spite of the fact that I had no dance experience whatsoever, let alone dance in a church! At that time, as a single 30 years old woman, I told the Lord that I would have done “anything” he would ask me, but I never dreamt it would be dance, especially in front of a lot of people, as I am rather timid and I don’t like to “show-off”. But it was in the same South Africa, where I was prophesised that the Lord would give me a “special” ministry, that it would not have been an easy one, but that as long as I remained “close to Jesus”, He would not have left me nor forsaken me. In fact, I have had much opposition because still nowadays, dance is not understood by some leaders, although most of the “sheep” do, and this sometimes made me sad. (I believe this “fear” of dance in a Christian Contest” is due to lack of teaching on praise and worship, of which dance is an important element) However, as the main purpose for me was (and still is and will always be) to worship the Lord in Spirit and Truth (It is Him who has chosen men to worship Him) I started simply by “copying” the leader and members of the dance group when they “ministered) with spontaneous movement during the praise and worship in the church, and than the Lord has done the rest. Still in South Africa, the Lord gave me a vision and a “mandate” to “introduce dance in Italy, as a form of praise and worship” as it is a powerful instrument in the hands of believers. But how could I? Without experience and with little teaching? Once returned to Italy (10 years ago), even if I felt “inadequate” and certainly not equipped to minister, let alone teach, I remembered that “vision” God gave me in South Africa and I became the Representative of “International Christian Dance Fellowship” in Italy. (Their website is www.icdf.com). In the following years, the Lord has sent to Italy many different Christian Dance teachers, always guests in my house, who “ministered”, sometimes taught, in the evangelical church I used to go to in Rome. It’s there, in Rome, where, shyly at first, I started to worship the lord with simple movements of the hands and arms and than, as I gained more “confidence” and having learnt to "listen” to the Holy Spirit, I started to introduce other props such as ribbons, tambourines, worship cloths, etc. In the same church, another girl caught the vision and together with a few other from other churches in Rome, we started to minister anywhere possible (public parks, “Tevere Expo” – exposition in Rome, other churches, during evangelizations and lately, at the “National Intercessory Youth Rally in Sicily – 2005 – and at the “Controcorrente” arts festival in Pescara (www.controcorrente.org) where, to the Glory of God, I won the first price with a prophetic dance “At the foot of the cross” (site as above). The Lord, with the help and “prompting of the Holy Spirit” gives me the inspiration, the movements and the songs or music to “interpret”. Some time ago it gave me a “vision2 that I was “ministering” with dance in front of many people but, until now, it happened only in part. Well, so far, I have ministered with dance in different and various places, both individually or with the AdoraRE” group formed of a few people from different church, which sometimes get together to minister as a group; amongst them here are a few samples: a) Book presentation in church b) Tevere Expo c) National Intercessory Youth Rally in Sicily – 1st November every year since 2005 (www.ccgiubileo.org) d) Winner of the first price at the 1^ Festival of Arts “Controcorrente” in Pescara – 8 December 2005 (www.conrocorrente.org) e) Prophetic Praise and Worship Conferences in Castelvolturno Naples f) International Christian Dance Conferences in Florence g) Various evangelizations in parks, squares, even on the beach h) Various “live praise and worship concerts” i) Most Sundays in church My vision is to see, in churches as well as outside, people be free to express their praise and worship to the Lord by using movements, where there is warmth and joy in being able to take one another by hand or march together around the church and where dance groups are encouraged to express their love of the Lord with dance and movements as much as with praise and worship groups, and where churches create space as to enable people to move freely. Movement and dance, if used with wisdom can help us to improve and deepen our praise and worship, our love amongst congregations, and our communication with those who still haven’t experienced new life in Jesus. Furthermore, I would like to see Christian arts (expressed in every form), been reclaimed and used to spread the Christian message of salvation. Lastly, I would like to help people use their God’s given gifts and talents expressed in dance for the Lord, by teaching them the biblical principles of how powerful is dance in praise and worship.
